Anne Breymann is an artist and animation filmmaker based in Berlin.
She is specialized in stop motion, digital and analogue cutout animation, and loves to experiment and combine different techniques. Since graduating in Visual Communication from the Kassel School of Art and Design she has been creating animations and puppets for international clients, as well as directing her personal independent short films. In addition she also teaches puppet building for stop motion animation. She was Artist in Residence at the Netherlands Institute for Animation Film, the Abbey of Fontevraud in France and the Finnish Saari Residence.
Besides her passion for animation she creates staged photographs with handcrafted sets and characters, like frozen moments from a mysterious miniature world. Her work is often inspired by nature, mythology and the absurdities of human behaviour.
